Welcome Project F.I.N is a community based organization, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, which was founded for the purpose of assisting families with children in times of crisis. The emphasis is on assisting families - with the help of community members - through a reciprocal self-help relationship. The basis of maintaining a thriving, healthy community is maintaining thriving, healthy families, and, we, at Project F.I.N, are dedicated to that cause. One of the biggest threats to the stability of the family structure is economic crisis, which could be the result of job loss, increases in monthly rent, or even an illness contracted by the primary wage earner. This financial instability impacts the family unit both physically and psychologically, but some of the more devastating consequences are homelessness and hunger, which adversely affect the health and life chances of young children. The goal of Project F.I.N. is to provide support to these struggling families through a network of dedicated community members who have vested interests in maintaining healthy communities. Project F.I.N. strives to provide not only financial support, but emotional support and access to information regarding available jobs, affordable housing, etc. Currently, Project F.I.N. is assisting 25 families overcome personal and financial crisis situations. However, our goal is to increase by 30% the economic resources available to us so that we can, also, expand our services and reach a higher number of the types of families to which we offer assistance.
